Thanks to the Crick's Networking Fund, the fourth event took place on Wednesday 12th of June 2024 at University College London. Once again it focused on method sharing and consisted of five short talks, followed by a networking session.

Starting with Xavier Cano Ferrer, a Research Engineer at the Crick’s Making Lab STP, we learned about some of the custom-made behavioural tools created for neuroscience experiments. Next, we heard from Oscar Ayrton, a Mass Spectrometry Technical Manager at King’s College London, who gave us an overview of his facility as well as explained the specific method of determination of residual solvents. Imperial’s Engineering core Facilities Manager Florent Seichepine talked about his approach to make the facilities available for all different types of users. Anastasia Gketsopoulou, a Senior Laboratory Manager at UCL described the ways how the biological wastes are being dealt with. The last talk of the day was by Frankie Tait, a Laboratory Research Scientist at the Crick, during which she made us familiar with her work at the Ancient Genomics Lab.

This was the last event from Techs Today's first edition, and we will hopefully be back in Autumn with more events!
