2026 summer student training programme is now open for applications

Join our 9-week programme designed for motivated second-year undergraduates at UK universities.  Gain hands-on research experience, work in a Crick research group, and receive training from a postdoctoral supervisor. Enjoy interactive development sessions and discover what a career in biomedical research could look like!


The Crick is developing an inclusive culture that nurtures diverse talent and we encourage applications from underrepresented or disadvantaged groups.

To be considered for the 2026 Summer Student Training Programme, applicants must meet at least one of our widening participation eligibility criteria:

  • Be of black ethnicity
  • Be in receipt of enhanced maintenance support
  • Be studying at a university on the Crick’s Summer Student Training Programme priority list

Students will receive funding to support their living costs and, if required, accommodation support. You can find more information about the Crick Summer student training programme, summer projects, eligibility and how to apply, visit our website here.
