During this panel talk as part of Careers Fest, we'll hear from recent Crick leavers talking about what they've gone onto do since leaving the Crick within the last year.
Speakers confirmed so far include:
Christophe Galichet - Christophe holds a PhD in developmental biology and molecular neurobiology from Strasbourg University, France, with research undertaken at the National Institute for Medical Research (NIMR) in London, UK, under the supervision of Dr. Francois Guillemot. Following his studies, Christophe joined Dr. Robin Lovell-Badge as a post-doctoral research assistant at NIMR and then as a senior Laboratory Research Scientist. Christophe was analysing neural stem and progenitor cells within the hypothalomo-pituitary axis and the effect of gut microbiota in this axis. In April 2024, Christophe joined the Neurobiological Research Facility at the Sainsbury Wellcome Centre (SWC) as Research Operations Manager and NTCO. Now Christophe ensures scientists are trained and competent in research procedures and also leads a research group focusing on improving animal welfare.
Anna Malloch - Anna joined the Crick in 2021 and worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the UK Dementia Research Institute splitting her time between UCL and the Crick with Prof Bart De Strooper and Dr Lorena Arancibia to study cell-cell interactions in Alzheimer’s disease using spatial transcriptomics. In July 2024, Anna moved to Imperial College London as an Edmond and Lily Safra Research Fellow and a UKDRI Emerging Leader to establish her group. Anna’s research focuses on understanding cell-cell interactions and how they are disrupted in Parkinson’s disease.
Alida Avola - former Crick PhD student (class of 2024), now Scientific Curator at the Wellcome Sanger Institute.
