Crick Insight lectures are delivered by public figures who have an interest in science, but come from different walks of life. Occasional but inspirational talks, they aim to inform and inspire discussion beyond the Crick’s immediate research.
Television and radio broadcaster, and former international gymnast Gabby Logan joins us to talk about her journey in sports broadcasting and the rise of women’s sport.
Gabby Logan is one of the UK’s most recognised sports broadcasters. Her work was acknowledged with an MBE for services to sports broadcast and promoting women in sport. A former international gymnast, Gabby has established herself as a key figure for the BBC, presenting the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, Invictus Games, the FIFA World Cup, Euros and the Six Nations, to name just a few. She is also a regular anchor for Amazon Prime Video’s sport fixtures.
Outside sport, Gabby has presented a number of formats from primetime game shows and chat shows to documentaries, such as The Vault, Splash!, The Edge, The One Show, Sexism in Football and One Day in May: The Story of The Bradford City Fire
A prolific writer, Gabby has been a columnist for The Times and has previously written for The Independent, The Guardian, Glamour, and Stylist Magazine.
Gabby’s recent focus has been to educate and encourage dialogue about the Menopause and mid-life – topics she regularly covers on her chart-topping podcast, The Mid•Point, and in her debut memoir, The First Half.
