At the invitation of the MSD team at the Crick, we welcome David MacMillan, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry 2021, to give a guest lecture.
Sir David William Cross MacMillan FRS FRSE is a Scottish chemist and the James S. McDonnell Distinguished University Professor of Chemistry at Princeton University, where he was also the chair of the Department of Chemistry from 2010 to 2015.
He shared the 2021 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Benjamin List "for the development of asymmetric organocatalysis" - and founded the May and Billy MacMillan Foundation so that he could give his share of the prize money- the equivalent of about $500 000 to go towards providing educational opportunities for financially disadvantaged students in Scotland.
After the lecture attendees are invited to a complimentary lunch provided by MSD in the seminar breakout space.
