The CrickConnect team is delighted to invite all members to join us at the Crick on Thursday 2nd December for our annual Student Christmas Lecture, which will be followed by our first Alumni Christmas Social event.
The Christmas Lecture is organised by Crick PhD students each year, and features an eminent speaker talking about their journey in science and the role of research in society. This year, we are combining the lecture with a special drinks reception for all Crick students, staff and CrickConnect members, in the Manby Gallery.
Alumni, students and current staff are invited to join us to reconnect with old friends and colleagues, celebrate the year that was, and look forward to the year to come. We’re excited to be able to host alumni in person after a long gap, and look forward to welcoming you back to the Crick.
The Wellcome Trust’s Associate Director for Policy, Beth Thompson MBE, will give a talk titled From Lab to Lobbying: Reflections on Science Policy. Beth joins us for an insight in to her work promoting science and research at the highest national and international levels, influencing policy makers to maximise impact for health.
16:00 – Lecture begins in the Crick Auditorium
17:00 – Drinks reception in the Manby Gallery
19:00 - Close
Members are invited to attend in person or remotely, and are welcome to attend the lecture, drinks reception, or both – please select the appropriate ticket when registering your attendance.
