Sosei Heptares Prize for Biophysics
The Sosei Heptares Prize for Biophysics was established by the British Biophysical Society (BBS) in 2018 and is awarded every two years for substantial contributions to Biophysics or Biophysical Methods by an individual whose principal work has been carried out in the UK or Ireland.
Sergi's prize
Sergi, senior group leader of the Single Molecule Mechanobiology lab, received the award in recognition for his work to understand the conformational dynamics of proteins under force, and their role in regulating cellular mechanosensing and mechanotransduction.
I am humbled by this award, and delighted to join the incredible list of previous awardees. This recognition is only thanks to the many brilliant and hard-working scientists that have worked in my lab through the years, who have collectively put their efforts towards understanding the beauty and complexity of molecular mechanobiology. Very many thanks to them all!
- Sergi Garcia-Manyes
Sergi will deliver the Sosei Heptares Prize for Biophysics Lecture at the BBS Biennial Meeting in September.
